‘Ticketmaster said they’ve never seen anything like it’ NFL chief reveals HUGE demand for tickets as Tom Brady and Buccaneers head to Germany

The NFL has played international games in recent years in an effort to expand its brand globally. The European market posted strong returns as the league originally planned to play at least one game per season in England. However, he has already increased that number by playing several games there per season, as demand and popularity continue to grow in the new market.

The 2022-23 NFL season will introduce another all-new market for the league to host an official game. Germany will host a regular season game for the first time in league history. Tom Brady’s Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Geno Smith’s Seattle Seahawks travel to Munich in Week 10 for a clash at Allianz Stadium, home of German Bundesliga club Bayern Munich FC.

NFL Europe and UK manager Brett Gosper says there is massive demand for American football in Germany, according to a recent report by Daily Mail:

“As a sport it maybe scratches an itch that other sports don’t have in this market. Rugby is not a big game in this market so there is no other sport contact. There are a lot of professional sports in England, from cricket, rugby, football, and so on, and the NFL always finds its place in this competitive landscape. But in Germany, it just seems that it there is a wider possibility of entering and occupying a space that is perhaps not occupied by someone else.”

Gosper says the interest in ticket sales confirms his claim:

“There were 800,000 people lining up for a football game. Ticketmaster said they had never seen anything like it. They extrapolated that in terms of demand, our analytics indicate you could have sold three million tickets.”
