Fresh out of the first look on Netflix Sand seller TV series creator Neil Gaiman has confirmed how much of the comic book series will be covered in the upcoming first season. Responding to a fan on Twitter who asked how many comics would be spoiled by the series, Gaiman replied, “The first season covers the first two graphic novels.” These two collections, respectively “Préludes et Nocturnes” and “La Maison de Poupée”, cover the first sixteen issues of the original series of 75 issues. Since the premiere of the comedy series, Gaiman has had thirty years of time to reconsider his approach to the series and will be making some of those changes to the TV adaptation.
“In doing the Netflix TV series, we think of that a lot like, ‘Okay, it’s 2020, let’s say I was doing Sand seller from 2020, what would we do? How would we change things? What gender would this character be? Who would that person be? What would happen? ‘”Said Neil Gaiman ComicBook.com and other media on how he approaches updating his iconic comic book series for modern TV audiences. “The fact that we have seventy-five numbers Sand seller more – essentially, 13 complete books – worth of material, is a very good thing. It is not a disadvantage. It’s on our side. And the fact that we’re in a world where we can take things that only existed in comics, and can now exist in reality. “
Logan star Boyd Holbrook, who plays the murderous nightmare escaped from the Corinthian, also previously teased a multi-season plan for the series, saying in a conversation with Collider: “I think everyone wants the show to continue [beyond Season 1]. I think it’s a standard contract that lasts seven, five years, whatever. We talked about all of this. I don’t know if everything will work out. I think it could work in different blocks of time, but yes you definitely want to get some sort of macro idea of how long something is going to last. But I don’t want to give the details of how long. “
