KARACHI: The National Bank of Pakistan (NBP) and Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) on Monday signed an agreement to help PIA employees meet their financial needs through the provision of banking facilities, according to a statement.
Under the agreement, NBP will help PIA employees meet their financial needs by providing them with asset and liability products through the preferred mode of service. The arrangement would offer preferential rates and dedicated services designed to meet the financial needs of PIA employees. These include offering preferential rates to PIA employees on NBP liabilities and consumer asset products and services.
Tauqeer Mazhar, SEVP/Group Chief Retail Banking Group, NBP and Amos Nadeem, CFO, PIA signed the pact in the presence of other senior executives from both sides. Speaking on the occasion, Mazhar called the arrangement mutually beneficial for both organizations, saying it would further strengthen NBP’s partnership with the national carrier.
BNP capitalizes on its relationships with large companies by offering specialized priority services and awareness sessions to employees of large companies like PIA to help its employees meet their personal banking/financial needs.
“We are bringing banking services to employees’ workplaces to facilitate and improve customer service,” he added. NBP currently offers consumer financing products such as personal loans, gold-based financing, home loans, and auto loans.
