Kanpur: Chhatrapati Shahu Ji Maharaj University in collaboration with IITKanpur celebrated a grand event’Gatha Mahotsav-2022′ on Sunday. Eminent personalities such as academicians and Bollywood actresses captivated and enchanted the audience with poems and stories during the event.
Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya inaugurated the Gatha Mahotsav-2022 online. Director IIT Kanpur Prof. Abhay Karandikar and Vice Chancellor of CSJM University Professor Vinay Kumar Pathak inaugurated the program.
MP CM expressed his joy to be part of the Gatha Mahotsav. He sent his best wishes to the students for their bright future. He added that India is progressing day by day and we need to bring the best talent to the world stage. Professor Pathak said that Gatha Mahotsav is a major program of Indian art, culture and literature. Prof. Abhay Karandikar said that Gatha is an incubation of IITKanpur. It is an online audio platform through which we can listen to stories, poems, anecdotes related to Indian literature and get information about the works of poets and writers. He said that through the Gatha app there is an effort to bring together technology and literature in the form of audio related to the culture of India so that more people know about Indian culture and carry it on the world stage. Gatha co-founder Amit Tiwari expressed his joy at celebrating the event. He narrated the vision of Gatha saying that we are going to bring the metaverse version of Gatha in the future. Gatha Mahotsav kicked off with a delightful performance from the Bollywood actress and acting coach Nayani Dixit on an orchestra of stories. After that, a team of technocrats and literary professionals organized a panel discussion on literature, culture and technology “Kal, Aaj aur Kal”.
During the open-mic session, CSJMU students also performed their compositions. Himanshu Bajpai performed live on Dastaan-ae-Aam. A famous archaeologist and current DG Home Guard Vijay Kumar gave historical information from artifacts on Kannauj in the heritage session of Indian culture and civilization. Mamta Kalia, a well-known Hindi novelist and Anand Kakkar, founder and coordinator of Kahkashan made samvaad on ‘Expression of the double exploitation of women’.
