Football fans around the world flocked to social media on Friday evening, to send a collective appeal to the powers that be, regarding Karim Benzema.
Hitman Benzema, of course, marked his return to the international scene a short time ago.
After finishing a superb individual campaign with Champions League glory, the veteran hitman led the line for France in the Nations League opener against Denmark.
The clash, ultimately, did not go to plan for the Blues, who were put to the sword by two goals to one due to a late brace from substitute Andreas Cornelius.

But that man, Benzema, nonetheless impressed once again, scoring France’s only goal on the night thanks to a brilliant solo effort.
After collecting the ball on the right flank, the Real Madrid star cut inside, exchanging passes with Christopher Nkunku before weaving his way past a trio of defenders and picking the most corner. away in style:

And Benzema’s latest efforts, although on their way to a disappointing result for France, have not gone unnoticed by fans at all.
Taking to social media in droves on Friday night, viewers demanded the 34-year-old be awarded football’s most prestigious individual award – the Ballon d’Or – for 2022.
